The Best DJ (the-best-dj.com and el-mejor-dj.com) is a service of CODELABS STUDIO, S.L., which is the controller of your personal data. This policy explains what data we process, why, on what legal basis and with whom we share it.

  • •Service usage data (tracks played, votes, requests, ratings and comments to the DJ)
  • •Technical device information (IP address, browser type) needed to serve and protect the site

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • •Provide the service you use or subscribe to (performance of a contract, art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • •Charge subscriptions and handle tips (performance of a contract)
  • •Compute DJ and venue analytics and rankings (performance of a contract)
  • •Moderate comments sent to DJs to filter harassment, hate or threats (legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • •Contact you about your account (performance of a contract)
  • •Meet legal obligations such as tax duties (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share only what is necessary with these providers, acting as processors, and with other users or authorities in the cases listed:

  • •Hetzner Online GmbH (EU): hosting of the website, database, sign-in and email
  • •Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland): subscription and tip payments and payouts to DJs through Stripe Connect; card data is handled by Stripe and never reaches our servers
  • •Cloudflare, Inc.: file storage (R2) and delivery network
  • •OpenAI (USA): automatic moderation of the text of comments to DJs; it only receives the comment text
  • •Spotify and Apple (iTunes): search in their music catalogues; they only receive the search term
  • •Other users: only the public information of your DJ or venue profile
  • •Authorities, when required by law

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • •Withdraw your consent where processing is based on it

International transfers

OpenAI and, where applicable, Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified or, otherwise, on the European Commission standard contractual clauses (art. 46 GDPR).

Retention

We keep your data while you keep your account. When you close it we delete it, except the data the law requires us to keep (for instance invoicing data, for the tax periods), which stays blocked.

Cookies

We only use technical cookies, necessary for the service and exempt from consent (art. 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE): your account session, sign-in protection and your chosen language. The light or dark theme is stored in the browser local storage. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
